My star, IC5146, is 1980 par and 6412.3558 lightyears away. the simbad website said that the star is 1986.095pc. So it isn't exact but it is close. This is how i worked it out: d=10^0.2(v-M+5) 0.2(15.469-4+5) 0.2(16.469) 10^3.2938 1966.9803 par (1966.9803)(3.26)= 6412.3558 lightyears
